About SuperSports (and me)

I have been a Basketball official since 1973. In 1976, I began to officiate Flag Football as well as Basketball. For the first 10 years of my officiating career, I worked in Dade County. In January, 1977 I worked my first High School Varsity game (Wouldn't you know it? The game went into overtime!). When I moved to Davie in 1983, I joined the Broward County High School Association, where I remain to this very day. During my career, I have officiated over 17,000 games and have met some wonderful people.

After I moved to Broward County, I noticed that there were many leagues that needed officials. In addition, the West Broward area was heavily under construction and new communities seemed to be created almost overnight. This allowed already formed leagues to grow quickly, and also permitted the formation of several new leagues. In 1986, I founded SuperSports of Broward County, Inc. and it has grown bigger than my wildest imaginings.

Since the inception of SuperSports, I have coordinated Basketball officiating camps, and assigned major tournaments. I had the honor of assigning the Wilt Chamberlain's Rising Star tournament, thanks to the tournament director, Mark DeAtley. For 3 years, I was the assignor for the YBOA National tournaments in Polk County, which is the 2nd largest group of tournaments in Florida. 

Currently, I schedule approximately 10,000 games annually. My company is completely computerized, thanks to the customized program that I wrote. It permits me to utilize my time much more efficiently, making my tasks much easier to complete. A couple of years ago, I was named as the assignor for the Broward County Athletic Association High School Girls' Flag Football program, as well as coordinating the pre-season camp for the coaches. This position requires me to assign officials to all 32 public High Schools, as well as numerous private schools. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with all the athletic directors and coaches, as well as the staff at the Broward County Athletic Association main office.
